Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026. This is a plain-language draft — have it reviewed by a lawyer before you rely on it commercially.

1. What TeamSigner is

TeamSigner is a coordination tool that lets members of a team cryptographically approve actions and, when a configured threshold of approvals is reached, delivers a signed notification to a webhook endpoint that you (the customer) control and operate. TeamSigner does not itself perform, execute, or guarantee any action in your systems — it only relays approvals.

2. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for: configuring your actions, thresholds, members and webhook endpoints correctly; securing the endpoints that receive our webhooks and independently verifying the signatures we deliver; safeguarding members' recovery phrases and devices; and ensuring your own systems do the right thing when a webhook is (or is not) received.

3. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. We do not warrant that requests, approvals, notifications, or webhooks will be delivered, delivered on time, or delivered at all.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TeamSigner and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the service. This expressly includes — without limitation — any loss or harm resulting from a webhook that was not delivered, was delayed, was delivered more than once, or was delivered with incorrect data; from the service being unavailable; from a threshold that was or was not reached; or from any failure of our technology, such that a team or organisation was unable to carry out, or mistakenly carried out, an action. You acknowledge that TeamSigner is an approval-relay convenience and must not be relied upon as the sole control for any safety-critical, financial, legal, or emergency process. Your total remedy, and our total aggregate liability, is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months preceding the claim (or, if you paid nothing, to USD 100).

5. Verify independently

Every webhook we send is signed. You must independently verify the HMAC envelope and each member signature against the members' public keys before acting on it. Do not treat receipt of a webhook as authorization on its own.

6. Changes & termination

We may modify or discontinue the service, or these terms, at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (Fill in the specific jurisdiction before launch.)
